After all those months, slaving away, ahem, it was time for me to enjoy a long weekend and go to one of the far reaches of NZ. Gisborne is up in the north east and is generally ignored by all except the hardiest travellers who then go on around the East Cape.
The reason I was going was Cass asked me if I fancied going to a food and wine festival. I'm not a wine fan, but hey why not, it was a food festival too. In the end it was officially a wine and food festival and actually a wine and wine festival. We travelled up with one of Cass' friends and friends of friends so it ended up being a random group and a good bunch expect for one eedjit from London taaaawn. The travelling was a bit much, it took a day up and back but the festival day was nice and sunny and good fun. From what I can remember. I was unconscious from about 6. Oopsy. The good news is that I slept in the tent like a baby and woke up without a hangover, on the down side I lost a manbag that was included in the festival ticket price that had my jumper in it.
