We left Valdavia and headed further south stopping first in Puerto Montt. Puerto Montt is the departure point for places further south including the Torres del Paine and Puerto Natales where there are breaking glaciers and lagoons. Unfortunately as we have no cold weather clothing or the time this is the furthest south we are going! This time...
After having lunch in the fish market and spending the afternoon shopping in the local markets we left for Puerto Varas which is situated on Lake Llanquihue with good views of Volcan Osorno. Puerto Varas had a European feel to it as it was heavily influenced by German settlers. After a walk around town I had a swim in the Lake, it was the shortest swim ever as it was freezing! We stayed all together in a really nice apartment overlooking the lake.
