Arrived early doors into Porto Seguro after the bus journey and after visiting the tourist information was given the name of a pousada in our price bracket.  After we had checked in Nic sat on the bed and fell straight through it.  We showed the owner the state of it and she just pointed to the bunk beds next to it instead.  After finally getting through to her that we wanted another room she moved us upstairs into another hovel with horrible mattresses and sheets....one dirty place.  Seeing we were there for only one day, we decided to stay there but spent all day out and about. 

We chose Porto Seguro as there is an island Arraial dŽAjuda 5mins away that was meant to have gorgeous beaches, but the weather also chose to deal us a bad hand and it was our first day of cloud and rain since we came away.  We went to have a look at the beaches and they were ok but a little too much seaweed!!!  Had our first per kilo meal experience, where you fill your plate up from the buffet and pay, you guessed it, by the price per kilo!!  After walking around town it was the ferry back to our pousada to get some sleep for the next journey down to Rio via Vitoria.
