Did another overnighter from Praia da Pipa to get here, but was a huge trek overall, about 21 hours in total - four of which were spent in Recife Bus Terminal which makes Preston Bus Station look stunning!
We found a nice pousada which was right next door to a small samba festival which we could listen to from the comfort of a hammock on the balcony! Nice! Fortunatley it only finished at 7 rather than the very very loud reggae party the night before that we firstly couldnŽt find, then went on until really late and kept us awake!
We went to see the Tamar Turtle Project which protect and monitor several species of turtles all along the coast of North Brazil. Although they released over 900,000 baby turtles into the sea last year, due to natural reasons only 1-2% will make it to adulthood! We saw some little baby turtles which they had just found in one the monitored nests - about 130 littlŽuns per nest, very cute! The big ones were cool too, some of them were huge, all rescue turtles. They can live to be 150!
We had thought we would stay here a while, but decided to move on after one night back to Salvador as the beaches werenŽt up to scratch!
