We left San Martin to head for Mendoza in Central Argentina which is in total 17.5 hours on the bus.  The first leg was to Neuquen which was 6.5 hours away.  On the way we saw Volcano Lanin which stands at 3776m (thatīs for you Frank).  Then after a break at Neuquen and some chips to share (thatīs travelling for you) we set off on an overnighter to Mendoza - arriving 11 hours later at sunrise to see the sun light up the surrounding mountains (see photo) which made the journey worthwhile.

We spent a lazy first day recouperating and wandering around, with a face on as we thought we had lost all our photos -  luckily the nice man in the photo shop managed to find them again.

As Mendoza is reknowned as a wine growing region we made what might sound like a foolish decision to go on a winery tour, on mountain bikes, in the mid-day heat 006

 .  Although a combination of unco-ordinated, inexperiencd and unwilling might sound like a recipe for disaster she did alright and we had a brilliant day taking in several winerys and sampling lots of wines and also an olive oil factory, where we polished off all the free samples of bread, olives and tomatoes as weīd had no lunch and it was delicious (still not as good as yours Sue!!). We cycled 11 kms in total.

That evening we went to an eat as much as you like/can veggie cafe and cleaned up for 3 quid each!!!

Our next stop is Puerto Iguazu home of the Iguazu Falls and we have treated ourselves to a flight as we couldnīt face spending 35 hours on the bus which would be two nights including New Years Eve!
