After a couple of nights relaxing and enjoying the views around Lake Wanaka we arrived into Queenstown. Only an hour after arriving we were on a Jet Boat speeding through the Shotover Canyon at 80kms an hour - heading straight for the rocks and pulling 360 degree turns.....good fun.

One hour later we were up at the Canyon Swing!! This is a swing set up over the Shotover Canyon 109 metres up - you launch (or get launched if you're too scared like Lin was) yourself from the platform, freefall for 60 metres and then swing in an arc for 150 metres.  Paul flung himself off twice - once forwards trying to catch a potato (it was a Paddys Day special if you caught the potato you got the jump for free) and then backwards....I just about managed to stop panicking for the lads to release me from the safety harness, after that my heart stopped and I can't really say what happened until it locked and then I burst out laughing after a big scream!! Check out to see what happens.

Scariest thing I've ever done - of course Paul wasn't quite satisfied with that scare and booked the Nevis Highwire Bungy for the next day. I went as a spectator and still don't know how any of them did it - unbelieveable. Pauls face was the coulour of his white hoodie on the way out on the gondola, which looked scary enough.  You jump in order of weight the heaviest first - so Paul was number 13 (nice eh). Pauls finding it as hard to explain what happened as much as I was yesterday. Eight and a half seconds freefalling,  sheer horror and sheer euphoria mixed together is the best he can come up with. When the freefall finished he found himself in hysterics laughing until he was pulled back in. The freefall was the best feeling he's ever had!!!! Have a look at to see what the mad f***** did as the photos don't do it justice and we can't upload the video footage.

Next on the list is the skydive, 15,000ft with a 60 second freefall, which we're both willing to do at the moment anyway. We'll keep you posted!
