After Byron Bay we headed for the Blue Mountains - and made it this time. We tried to get there on our first trip from Sydney but had some car trouble, it seems ages ago but its only been 10 weeks. The Blue Mountains are stunning. All the locals on the way up warned us it would be cold. We weren't too worried because we've been roasting alive for the most of our time in Oz and we were looking forward to some cooler weather.
Our first day there was sunny and we got to see lots, including the famous three sisters and we also got to do some short walks. But our second day was rainy and ended up being an all out storm by the night time. This was the coldest night we had in Oz we were fighting over the blanket all night in the back of the car - see the locals are always right over here. This was our last night with Pammy - very sad occasion for all involved. We even have a photo of The Last Supper together which had to be in the boot it was raining so much
Then it was back to Sydney to sell Pammy back to the dealer and change our flights to New Zealand. We made a trip to Paddys Market in Sydney city centre to buy some warmer clothes for the journey ahead. We stayed in Noahs hostel again on Bondi Beach for four nights while waiting on our cheque for Pam, once we got that it was bye bye to Oz.
The 10 weeks we spent in Oz were brilliant - we got to see some amazing beaches, rainforests, cities, wildlife, storms and also had a chance to meet up with some great friends.
We would recommend to anyone who is planning to travel around Australia (and not work) to start somewhere other than Sydney if possible, as the prices are much higher to buy/rent cars and also for accomodation. Other than that enjoy, its great!
