We took a large over packed speedboat to Ko Tarutao. It was so packed we seemed to be leaning to one side as we pounded through the waves. We made it anyway and were glad to discover we were the only two on the boat going to Tarutao - everyone else was going to Ko Lipe. Perfect!
Tarutao is a national park with lots of wildlife, monitor lizards, crab eating macaques, dusky langurs and sea eagles were among what we saw.  All accomodation on the island is park owned and they have a good conservation programme running. We camped on the beach, $4 including tent rental. The 3km stretch of white sand in front of our tent seemed to belong to only us and the crabs at times.
We did a small trek up a hill where we stumbled upon around 10 dusky langurs(monkeys).  Paul also made his first sand sculpture - a dolphin which was pretty good. Other than that we spent our days lazing in hammocks, playing cards or strolling the beach.
Ahhh.....Perfect......
