Ahhh the Magic Sponge! Great place to stay at while in Kampot. On the map it looks well out of the way but Kampot is such a small little town you can walk most of it in an afternoon stroll. $9 a night gets you a really nice room, hot water and fan and you can also upgrade your room to A/C if needed for a few extra bucks, no need to upgrade for us the fan was great! They also have a pool table, mini golf, bikes for rent $1 and a pretty cool bar area, great food and Indian set specials for $5 3 dishes and chapati an easy share meal between two. Staff are great here, very friendly, always smiling and ready to help out. Put this place on your list if you visit Kampot.

To settle in Em and I bang out a few games of pool, sip on some beers and then back to our ongoing Solo tournament, oh and some cheap cocktails while we wait for our Indian set to arrive.

Blissful which is a couple of doors up the road was a bit of a highlight on the food front. We stopped in one night... well we did have free beer vouchers when you order a main! We order a Blissful Salad & a Burrito, $4.50 each which as first seemed pretty steep. The salad turns up and Emz face lit up and dropped at the same time.... It was huge!!!! I mean massive and bloody tasty as well, feta, bacon, olives, peas and all your normal salad toppings piled a mile high mustard style dressing with garlic bread surrounding it. Wow, we are in for a big one the Burrito still hasn't arrived and we are half done. Here comes Burritoooo!!! Massive as well, eyes bulging, bellies screaming for mercy, we tackle it and I finish it off as well as the two free Drafts. We survive! And only a small amount of salad remaining. We get back to our room and I get the cold sweats... Oooppps I think I over did it, hope I can hold it in. We wake in the morning, all good!

Earlier that day we grabbed a few bikes from the Magic Sponge and cycled around town, out to Ollies' place on the river, up to the fishing village on the other end of the river and pretty much the whole town taking in the sights the traffic is pretty much non existant here. We stopped at Chim's for breakfast, great feed realllly cheap $1 a meal.

All in all, 2 night stop over we head to Kep in the morning 7:30am Sorya Bus good safe option.
