We then headed back towards Auckland. We stopped off at the massive Sand dunes and went for a walk along them.
We camped up for the night at Pukenui again.
The following morning we drove on to ninety mile beach for a few photos and then headed on our way south, stopping off at the historic Kauri Kingdom. Kauri is a type of tree that is very very old and is used by Maori's for carving and making furniture. Due to the over use of it in the past it is now an expensive and rare type of wood. One of the tourist attractions here is the massive staircase made out of the trunk of one the trees, plus some of the carvings, tables etc are absolutely stunning.

The last few days we have spent just outside Auckland in a campsite chilling out. Yesterday we Took in a flick in the cinema (Perfect Stranger - would recommend it) And today we are heading into Auckland to go up the Sky tower and update this travelpod.
Tomorrow we are leaving back the van and checking into our hotel early to take full advantage for the movie channel.
Saturday Morning we are heading to Fiji for our romantic holiday, so this might be our last entry in our travelpod until we get back home to Ireland on Tuesday Week.

Hope we have not bored people to much with our tales (or maybe made you jealous), but we are really looking forward to meeting up with everyone on our return.
We are even slightly looking forward to getting back into the rat race, so that we can get back to normality again.
This has been a great experience and one I would truly recommend to anyone considering doing something similar.
It has helped to educate us in different cultures, ways of life and we have seen so many memorable things and met some wonderful people along the way.
Both Ciara and I agree that it is the best thing we have ever done, but we also agree on another thing..... There is no place like home.

Speak to you all soon

Wicker beware!
Hi, I have just finished reading what will probably be your last travelpod entry and I feel like I have came to the end of a wonderful book that I have enjoyed, all your entries have been so interesting and so well written, your are probably too young to remember Alan Wicker and how he wrote about his world travels in a book called 'Wickers World' , you two could steal his thunder. Although I have misssed you both so much your travelpod has brought you and all the places you have visited closer to home, thankyou for sharing all your experiences with us, I am so looking forward to seeing you and having a long long chat . I am very proud of both of you for all that you have experienced and acomplished and for taking such good care of each other. Have a wonderful time in Fiji, Im sure it will be a lovely way to end your adventure. God Bless love you both Mummy, Grainne xoxoxo

A Land Up Over
'Ello Paul & Ciara,

And greetings from Brisbane, where Shane & Row have recently left on the first leg of their adventures up over - it won't be long now before they're with you.

It's also of course only a short while since I met Karen & Chris, spent an excellent couple of days in their company and wished them well as they set off to continue on their journey. I liked them both very much, as I suspected I would, and yet again it felt like a damn shame to be saying cheerio so soon.

I hope all is well back home.
All the very best,
