And we continued North!!! Still in a small convoy of a Ford Falcon (Big Red) and a Toyota Liteace (Homer). We arrived at Rainbow Beach very early ion the morning. One thing we have noticed now is that as there are so many beaches on the East coast, they are always virtually empty. This is great as it gives us a proper chance to view them all at our own pace. Rainbow beach, like all the beaches we have seen was beautiful. We even had people landing on the beach doing their tandem jumps from 14,000 feet. We spent a few hours there playing Frisbee and Scatch (We really are reliving our youth !!) From there we moved on to Inskip Point which is the place closest to fraser island and one of the gateways to get there. All we really saw was 4WD's mounting the ferry and disembarking the ferry. but we did manage to see get one stuck in the sand - Homer would never have had a chance. By Midday we had arrived in Tin Can Bay "Where the dolphins play". We had a picnic and saw no dolphins, much to Ciara's disappointment.
Ooh, and Ciara has just reminded me - Mums, close your ears !! We got stopped for speeding on the way to Tin Can bay. Now in my defence, we had just changed from a speed limit of 80km to 60km an hour. I was doing 72km an hour and thankfully the lovely policeman only gave me a stern warning. He gave this sarcastically whilst laughing and then asked us about our trip. Never in Ireland would i be that lucky.
