So we arrived in Langkawi on Monday 24th April at Lunchtime after a 2.5 hr ferry from Penang.
We decided on going to Pantai Cenang to get a place to stay as we had been recommended AB Motel there.
The recommendation was a reliable one and for about 15 quid a night we have got a palace. (With A/C) just 20 steps from the most beautiful beach with clear waters and white powdery sands.
On tuesday we hired out a car (loads of poke in the 600cc engine) for about 8quid for 24 hours and discovered the island.
We saw the "Seven Wells", 2 gorgeous waterfalls, an underwater aquarium (biggest in asia) and did a bit of beach bumming.
We ate in a lovely indian on the monday night and frequented an irish bar on the 2nd night (Owned by a couple from Mayo).
Paul even got up at 2.30 in the morning to watch bloody Arsenal go through to the Champions league final (i think his words were - effing b*****ds)
Today we are just having a lazy day on the beach although it is presently too warm, hence why we are presently in an internet cafe.
Will probably stay in LangKwai until end of week.

We have now spent 6 days here in LangKawi. Heading off on our overland treck tonight to Perenthian islands so have checked out and are staying on the balcony of a few friends we met - Milton and Susan. Milton's from London and Susan from Belfast . Also met a guy from South of ireland - Paidrig (Patrick) and they are all a good laugh and very welcoming.
Had some relaxing a lazy days over later end of week - Doing very little.
On thursday morning though, we went on a cable car ride, up to the highest peak of the island which was awesome. The views and scenery were unbelievable - got them on camcorder and Camera. Even Ciara went a long way to conquering her fears of heights. At the very top of the mountain their was a foot bridge between 2 peaks. (Carrick o Rede was nothing compared to this) We were lucky enough to go up early to ensure we had clear skies, as the clouds got thicker come lunchtime.
Did a wee bit more drinking over last few days (influenced a bit from our new friends - whilst Ciara tried nearly every alcopop possible to replicate the taste of Blue WKD - And failing miserably ( "i don't like the taste of alcohol in my drinks" being the common phrase - Why drink then i thought?)
Eaten some good food and enjoyed the relaxation of being away from the rat race.
So in a few hours we will be on route to our next destination - Pulua Perenthian -.
Also a note - A few more cockroaches have appeared to Ciara's Disliking - One was burnt by myself using deodarant and a lighter - and one got kicked down an alley to our amusement by Paidrig( and caught on camcorder)
Speaking of Paidrig - He has just left us the keys to his scooter so we may go for a wee spin before we set off.
