After the mission of getting here, the camping ground we turned up at was full and we were off on yet another mission to find another one!  Luckily it didn't take too long and was cheaper than the other anyway... always a bonus!  We settled in, showered, fixed vans and got some much needed washing done!  Wattie went for a drive into town and got two new tyres that were much needed, they were a bit worn when we left London and we had done nearly 10,000 miles since we left London!
The plan of attack was decided, chill out and then into town for a beer hall and a night out for Annettes birthday!  Bryce and Becks came out to the camping ground for some quality beer drinking time, and they brought pressies, green thai curry paste and Heinz baked beans, all the things we cant get over here!  The afternoon was spent just chilling out, the volleyball came out, us girls cut each others hair and good times were had.  Then it was off into town... straight to the beer hall, stein after stein went down, and yes even I was drinking beer, only as Rod had tricked me into thinking they were radlers (half beer half lemonade!)  We had half chickens and pork knuckles for dinner, the boys were in heaven!  From here it was on to a dance beer where we danced until our feet hurt!  Needless to say it was a late start the next day... we headed in to Slazburg for some sight seeing around lunch time, we strolled down the river and took in the castle grounds.  Went for a bit of a walk in the hills and once again ended up in the beer hall!!!Surprise surprise!  Another drunken night, but it had to be done!
The next day we headed out to the ice caves in Eisriesenwelt about 30km from Salzburg.  Was a bit hard for the body to take, you walk 40 minutes up a mountain, then a cable car in 38 degree sun and then you're in to a natural ice cave with sub zero temperatures!  Was pretty cool inside though... the cave was huge!  And once again as soon as you walk out the cave its straight back in to 38 degrees, the clothes came off rather quickly and we stopped at a little stream beside the road on the way down... talk about breath taking!!! I think the water came straight from the ice caves!!!  Refreshing though!
From here we did the short drive to Germany and found the perfect free camp spot, right by a beautiful lake in a small town called Kongissee.  The guys had a swim... bit too cold for me after the steam incident!  Next was a day trip out to "The Eagles Nest" containing Kehlstein a meeting house built for Hitler.  Hitler and the Nazi heirachy maintained homes here.  And we got to enter an old eerie bunker.... The stories and the pictures were enough to give you goose bumps!!  We had soon had enough and took off back to the lake to chill out and spend some time with Bryce before they flew out that night.
The lake was so pretty we decided to spend another night here.... Before continuing up Germany.
