Suddennly felt very christmassy when we heard the Pogues whilst eating lunch at the airport. Our backpacks weighed in at 11kg (Paul) and 9kg (Lucy). Not bad considering our packs weight about 3kgs with nothing in them!
Our flight to Auckland was pretty good, and managed to contact the hostel to come and pick us up for free.
Lara and Richard picked us up from the hostel and drove us to the Viaduct (waterfront) and went to the bar where Paulīs cousin, Ben, is working at.
We were really happy we managed to catch up with them all and had a lovely evening. I belatedly discovered 42 Below Manukau vodka and ginger beer is amazingly good! We moved onto Ponsonby for food and a couple of games of pool.
On the way back, Richard drove us down Franklin Street which is famous for having lots of xmas lights on (most) houses.
Early wake up call tomorrow - 5.15am shuttle to the airport!
