We agreed that Karamea was worth the drive, even tho we only had 2 days here. On the drive back we stopped at Lake Hanlon which was lovely, we could have sat and chilled there for a couple of hours very easily, listening to the bird calls and watching the reflections.

We stopped at Punakaiki for lunch and then drove straight to Arthurs Pass. We walked the Bridal Veil falls walk but were pretty disappointed with it was we walked right to the road (its' a loop track which we didn't want to do) and realised we had missed the falls. About 10mins before was a lookout of the falls which is as close to the falls you get - not very. Luckily another couple did exactly the same as us so didn't feel quite as stupid!

Overnight at Athurs Pass and then an early start to get back to Christchurch in time to pick up Mike and Max from the airport.
