This is a short and sweet entry as we were only here for 3 nights.
Sanur is on the southern coast of Bali and was the original tourist spot in the 1970's. It has a reputation for being a bit sleepy and I guess it is but we really liked it. Some of the reputation comes from the fact that a lot of retired ex-pats lives here and also from the lack of good surf so surfers tend to call the place Snore!
As all we wanted to do was swim it was perfect for us as we did not want the hassle of Kuta and the " would you like sarong / massage / sex" brigade. Ironically we never swam in the sea as we found this hotel on the beach that was being renovated but the pool was open so you could use it (for a fee) for the day
There is a lovely boardwalk along the beach looking out at the Indian Ocean which locals and tourist use all the time. Once again the Balinese were full of “hello’s and where are you from”? Even in this touristy of areas. We love them!
That is about it really. All we did is swim, drink and eat so not the most interesting of blog entry’s I know but hey in our next blog hopefully we will be talking about diving with Manta Rays as we are getting a boat to the island of Nusa Lembongan which is 18km south of Bali. See you under the waves!
