Kanchana
She grew up in Chaiyaphum and used to take care of buffalo as a young girl. She then moved to Bangkok to live with her aunt and go to school. She has lived here since then working in a chicken factory, I think first stuffing the chickens but then quickly as the foreman, she had a food stall for a while, she used to make and sell handicraft as well and I think do surveys, now she works for the Department of Non Formal Education. The website for the department is http://www.nfe.go.th/english/frontend/index.php During Monday to Friday she does administration in the office and then on Sunday she teaches to a village next to us. She teaches all subjects to get the students up to getting their year 12 certificates. These are people that have missed year 12 and the Thai government gives them this chance to get that qualification for free. About half of the class are Muslims.
