We leave Brisbane as we're heading to the Warner Brothers theme park to cheer ourselves up. We're like two excited six year olds running around high on E numbers. The first ride is the Batman Shotwave where you go 70m in the air at 70km an hour which does my stomach no end of good as it carries onwards as i stop at the 70m highpoint. We go on the second Batman ride but it's crap and is basically a glorified simulator. The big one is next as it's 'Superman Escapes' after queuing away from the ride i have no idea of what to expect and don't have time to think about it as it blasts out. It's everything a roller coaster should; fast, scary and not too long, it's brilliant. Lethal Weapon is next with me holding up the ride as i remove my papers and tips from my pocket which i thought would have been okay but the Nazi Warner Brothers think not so. The ride's okay but no Superman. After all that fun we have lunch and then go to the Scooby Doo Scary House which after a sedate start suddenly develops into a pitch black roller coaster in which you feel like you're going to be flung off the tracks at any point, it';s great. We go to the Wild Wild West ride which is like a log flume and has a 70km 30 metre drop at the end where we get soaked with Nic protesting that she didn't know she was going to get wet even though we'd had 20 minutes of watching previous rides. Next is the Shrek 4D theater which is fun as with the glasses you wear you do actually think the objects are coming out of the screen to you. We go to the Roadrunner Roller coaster which is for kids really but no one would be able to tell today., before we finish off with the Superman ride again. We decide not to go to Surfers Paradise and go straight to Byron which is only a couple of hours away reaching it at 7pm. We walk around really enjoying the town and its laid backness with buskers playing and all kooky little shops reminding us of Pai in Thailand. We find a place to park up and sleep opposite a park ignoring signs telling us not to...
