We start the day by asking various things about Nanjing and gaining mainly negative responses. The two attractions that had caught our eye were the Botanical Gardens (Nic) which we were told were 'rubbish' and the Memorial Hall Of The Nanjing Massacre (Me) which was closed until the new year. We head out exploring not too far after last nights escapade and don't really see much apart from another museum we try which you guessed it is closed. We get to a shopping road which has the biggest abundance of shops ever catering for every need and whim. We see some boats that we had seen the previous night that had come down the river so me being the old romantic suggest we take one that night and Nic falls into my arms at the suggestion...or maybe not. It is really hot probably the hottest day of the trip so far so we relax at the hostel until the most familiar feeling of the trip so far hunger strikes again. We head to a food hall where you purchase tickets and give them in as and when you choose you're food. We have noodles, soup with liver in it (new one on me, don't know what animal it's come from) and some spring rolls. We go on the boat trip and it's cool nice and relaxing and as someone is steering we're pretty unlikely to get lost, the woman driver talks about the statues and plaques that align the river all in Chinese so we have no idea what she is saying but I'm sure it's interesting. I should point out as well there were other people on the boat she wasn't talking only to us expecting us to know what she's saying. Overall though Nanjing was a good city to visit.
