Having got an overnight bus from the Ecuador/Colombia border, we arrived in Cali extremely tired. That day we just totally relaxed. Our only venture out was to the supermarket to grab dinner. The next day, we made a trip to Cali zoo. This was actually very enjoyable. Our favorite animals there were the bears and they even had a very photogenic, gorgeous, white tiger. After the zoo, the four of us took a trip into the centre of town. We visited churches and saw many colonial buildings. It wasn't one of the nicest cities we have visited. In the evening, Eoin cooked an unreal dinner- mash, mince, BBQ sauce and veg. It was the first meal in a long time that felt like home. We decided to go for a few drinks that night. The street of bars wasn't busy at all. It didn't feel like the safest of places with men coming up trying to sell drugs and a constant stream of beggars. Day 3, we just visited travel agents to suss out flights to Central America for mid February. We also realized that all the food we had bought for sandwiches that day had been stolen from the fridge. It is so annoying when this happens! Other tourists believe that they have a right to grab food that's not theirs. Hopefully, karma made them choke on it. We left the hostel at midday and headed to the bus station where we jumped on a bus to the coffee region of Colombia.
