Tuesday was a travel day to Napier. The weather was very overcast with strong winds, making for very rough seas. The captain announced that the winds were gusting up to 40 knots giving waves from 2 to 4 meters. It made for some unsteady walking but no sea sickness for me or Andy.
But we had a busy day, none the less. After having Belgian waffles and bacon for breakfast, we attended a social gathering. CruiseCritic Connections - the website and online forum I used to find out more about cruising - had a meet and greet for registered Celebrity customers. We had coffee and meet other people such as Sarah and Dave, Shelia, Karl and Diane and Stephanie. It was so great to meet other CC forum posters - they're as friendly as you imagined.
CruCon Tavel Agency, who we booked our cruise thru, had a party for all of their customers onboard. Free drinks! Judy, the CruCon agent, mentioned how many Canadians use their agency.
Then we atended a presentation on the unquie ecology of New Zealand. Craig Ward gave a brief 1 hr overview on the uniqueness of the animals found here (ex. varity of wingless birds, lack of predatory land mammals).
Of course, we needed part of the day to decide what type of lunch or afternoon snack to have - from the hamburger/hot dog grill, sushi bar, salads and sandwiches, pizza and pasta bar - then you had to decide on dessert....
Dinner was formal meaning men had to wear suits and women had to wear evening dresses. I wish I could reprint a menu - the entre choices sound as good as they taste.
Finally, we attended the musical 'And the Winner Is..." performed by the Celebrity Mercury dancers/singers. It was thankfully short as the production values were similar to a high school production.
It was now midnite and time to turn in - Napier - The Art Deo City - is tomorrow.

Have you found the gym yet? Sounds like that might be in order given the evening meals and miscellaneous others in between. My brother Glen loved the waffles---my sister Peggy insisted the pancakes were better. Do agree about the entertainment--nothing near the quality of the other cruises we have been on so far. However others parts are better--guess you can't have it all.
Snowy and cold here---be happy!!1/wes
