This hotel was recommended by my former thesis professor, who was currently teaching a Catholic University School of Architecture semester in Rome.  It just so happened that the hotel receptionist was a lady from Kaunas, Lithuania who knew my professor.  I know Lithuanian better than Italian, so she and i got along well - especially when I needed to find how to get somewhere, I could arrange it in the Lithuanian language!
