We left the farm after saying many goodbyes to our wonderful hosts. It was about a 3 hour drive back into Townsville, so Beccah showed the movie Sapphire, which is the true story about an aboriginal girl group who went to Vietnam to play for the troops.

By the way, the girls never even noticed the fact that we did not stop the coach to have the girls get off so we could cross the bridge. They were all too busy singing along to Popular from the musical Wicked. I wonder if they remember that now...

Once we got to the Billabong Sanctuary, we met up with Brad who showed us some of the native animals. First thing we got to do was handle a python and a baby crocodile. Then we saw Brad feed to adult crocs before it was time to feed ourselves. Those Aussies like their burgers because it was burgers for lunch again for us today!

After lunch, it was finally time to hug a koala! Everyone was so excited! The funniest part was that Moses, the koala, had a pretty weak bladder - several students left their photo with a little wet present from Moses on their shirt.

There was also a wombat named Tonka there for everyone to pet as well. (Kathryn, Jean-Paul, and I hung out with Tonka after the students were dismissed to wander the grounds in small groups, and we got to hold Tonka for a picture!)

I wonder who has the record for the most selfies with kangaroos... For $2 you could buy a bag of seeds to feed the roos. They were so much more willing to approach you and pose for pictures with you if you had food in your hand! I think I ended up with about 30 pictures myself!

At 3pm, we went to the school, St. Margaret Mary's College (it's a Catholic all-girls' high school) to meet our home stay families. School had just been let out, and the school hosted a bbq for our ambassadors as they waited to be picked up.
