We jump back in the mini-bus and head to the Bridge over the River Kwai. We stop for lunch at a restaurant alongside the River Kwai and enjoy sitting by the river looking at the great views of the blue river and green hills.  I could sit here all day, but we are soon on our way to the bridge site.  It is not the original bridge which inspired the film, that bridge was bombed by the alies at the end of the war, but a steel replacement.  A train still runs across, but we chose to walk it.
After the bridge we visit a museum on the Death Railway and learn all about the poor POW's who died building the railway.  There is a cemetry next to the museum and after a short walk around we all get back in the mini-bus feeling alot more sober.
