I arrive into Singapore on time and slightly rested as i had the whole row of seats on the plane to myself and could lie down! I have two hours to kill before i can check-in for my flight to Bangkok. I have to change terminals so i find the transfer bus and just as i am about to lug my bag up the bus stairs the driver picks it up and puts it on the luggage rack. He then really suprises me by walking away without even waiting for a thank you, let alone a tip, he was just being helpfull, i must be in civalisation again!
The transfer bus takes me to terminal 2 and i have to catch the sky train to terminal 3. It is so easy and before i know it i am standing in the que for the BA service desk. I have decided that since i am here i might as well try to change my dates for flying into Perth and for everything after June, which i couldn't book before i left. The customer service girl and i spend about 20 mins getting the right flight dates and working out how long i have in each place and then she ammends each of my tickets and sends me on my way with no cost to me at all! This is turning out to be a great day!
My flight leaves on time and i am in Bangkok by lunch time. I manage to catch the airport bus to the hostel without problem and crash out, reading and sleeping for the afternoon. I have a lovelly hot shower and feeling clean and rested i head out of the hostel looking for dinner. As i am just heading out of the front door i get talking to an Australian girl called Cassie. She and her friend Trevor have met in Bangkok just for the weekend. Cassie is on her way home from the UK and Trevor is working for a NGO in Cambodia. They invite me to join them in drinking Gin and Tonics and we chat away most of the night. Around 9 we decide that we should really find some food and head to Ko San Road. Ko San Road is amazing, all lit up like Times Square and with street vendors everywhere selling alsorts of food and clothes etc. We sit and eat at one of the many pubs with outdoor seating, and we feel like we are right on the road! I have fish and chips, not very Thai, but my stomach is only just keeping food down so don't want to risk it, and the Fish and Chips is lovelly! We crawl home around 2 pm and fall fast asleep!
