After Fatehpur we head out to lunch and then onto the Keoladoe Bird Sanctuary. My cold is really bad today and having got little sleep last night as i couldn't breath i find that i don't much enjoy sitting in the cycle rickshaw looking at birds. It gets even worse when we get out of the rickshaws and walk into the brush in search of a python. I am boiling and feeling sick and struggling to breath! Louise is also feeling sick (though that is food related) and so we head back to the jeeps and leave the others to bird watch!! Just as we get to the jeeps Louise has to rush to the toilets and i fall asleep in the jeep waiting for her.
Everyone else returns about an hour later and we all head off to Bharatpur a small village with a Heritage hotel that we are staying in that evening.
The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms surround a small court yard with a fountain (not on to conserve water) and Chandra tells us this was a old Royal Fort.
We go for a walk around the village about 5pm and i am supprised about how clean and unsmelly the village is. Delhi was very dirty and smelly so it is nice to be in the countryside.
We have dinner at the hotel and a local family play Indian music while their sons dance for us. They drag us all up and we have a go at the dancing - dn't think i'll give up the day job!
I hve a great nights sleep that night, not sure if it was because the group made me eat raw garlic before going to bed, or the tiger balm that Chandra lent me or the excitement of the day, but i was able to breath so i was happy!
