Visiting Tecpán and Iximché

Flag of Guatemala  , Chimaltenango,
Friday, May 27, 2011

Tecpán in the department, Chimaltenango with its indigenous people, is known as the "first capital of Guatemala". This claim is based on the fact that the first permanent Spanish military center of the nation was based here. It is a nice little typical town. I was a little but unlucky because my camera didn't work anymore. So the photos that you see are from somebody else.

The ruins of Iximché lie only a few kilometers away from the city on a high hill. It was a special feeling walking around there.
