Countryside - I have a very few pictures to tell the countryside's story of which I saw this weekend. Every twist and turn through the Rio Grande do Sul was a gift from God. Around each turn was picturesque, unique and simply beautiful. All the colors were perfect and the number of different views was too numerous to count; all vast, lush and mostly uninhabited. I've at times heard comments from Europeans on how much uninhabited land we have in America as if to reflect an unappreciated treasure or growth potential. If this is taken as truth, then the future is surely Brazil. The country-side in Rio Grande do Sul is vast and exquisitely beautiful and goes on for hours and hours and yet, how aware it makes me of the fact that I have only seen a small fraction of this beautiful country.*Many times you will hear me say the South of Brazil or RGDS, (Rio Grande do Sul). This is because Brazil is a huge country with so many cultures, peoples, and ways of being, doing and ways of living. In experiencing all the diversity, just in the South of Brazil, I have become very aware that I can't speak of Brazil as if I am experiencing one place. I am experiencing the region of Rio Grande do Sul. Even here I see and sense the rich diversity and multifaceted culture and life that the other regions will posses. I've gathered a little experience of how different the regions can be depending on where you are. There is not one Brazil to see, there are many to see, many Brazils to experience. For now, I am enjoying the land of the Gaucha in RGDS.
