I am currently in Costa Rica But I will tell you what I did in Nicaragua.

After Granada I bused to San Juan Del Sur. San Juan Del Sur is on the Pacific Ocean and is a small surfing town. It was nice to be on the Pacific Ocean for a change. I walked around, ate and did absolutely nothing, I enjoyed this break.

After San Juan del sur I headed to Rivas where I took a ferry to the Isla de Ometepe on the Lago de Nicaragua. This is the only lake in the world to have Reef Sharks in it. It is also the largest lake in the world. The Lake was absolutely stunning. In the middle of the lake there are two connected volcanos. These Volcanos were just as amazing and beatuiful as the lake. I spent one night in MoyoGalpa, then the next day I climbed 3/4 the way up The larger volcano called Concepcion. The view from the top of the Volcano was great. It was foggy all day until we got up and it cleared up and we could see for miles. After the hike I headed to a hotel on the other side of the island. This hotel was small and had access to some beaches. The next day I hiked around a small Nature Reserve and swam to a small island off the coast of the island. This was hard and exciting at the same time. At about 3ish I bused to Altragracia where I took a 10 hour ferry to San Carlos.

San Carlos is a small port town on the southern part of the lake. I arrived in San Carlos at 4 o clock in the morning and waited for Immirgation to open at 8. Once it opened I got my passport stamped and got into a boat to Costa Rica. The boat went up the Rio Frio into Costa Rica. This boat ride was AMAZING, I saw tons of monkeys, birds, and crocodiles. It was very cheap as I traveled with locals and I totally recemend it as a way to get into Costa Rica from Nicaragua.
