Alright we have made it to our last destination in Egypt, Alexandria...
We aren't having the traditional lodging experience in this city however, we are doing it a bit differently...
We met a Tunisian lady at our hotel in Cairo who was taking the same train as us to Alexandria and we shared the cab to the station as well...
It turns out that she is renting an apartment for a few weeks in Alexandria and she invited us to stay, so we all save money...We all wenmt grocery shopping together and she has been cooking for us...it's quite a nice situation...but slightly complicated as she only speaks French and Arabic, so we have a big circle of translation going...
We are staying in the boonies however and so this morning we took a minibus 5 kilometres down the Corniche (street along the water) and saw the sites:  Alexandria Library, which is huge and has every known alphabet in the world carved on it's walls and Qaitbey Fort, which is on the site of Ancient Alexandria, where the Ancient Lighthouse of Pharos once stood...The lighthouse was one of the Ancient 7 wonders of the world and was built in 300 or so BC and stood until the 15th century when it was toppled by an earthquake...
It was built by Ptolemy to make the city an important seaport, in order to compete with the other port cities...
Ancient Alexandria was founded by none other than Alexander the Great and it is believed that his tomb may be somewhere here...

That sounds amazing. And crazy. Cool that you are meeting helpful people like that along the trip though. Hope the rest of your stay in Egypt keeps being awesome.
