Time for a new country...and a new language too yippee..
On top of that we got quite the intensive border control experience...
We got asked any and every question that one could potentially think of...Sam even got asked to name all of his grandparents, I had to explain the origins of my last name...)
While I realize that it is warranted and simply there as a safety precaution, it is a bit disquieting to be questioned intensively by someone who is practically the same age as you...
It's also doubly strict for the questioners because most of them are young Israelis doing their mandatory army service (3 years for boys, 2 years for girls...they all have to start when they are 18)...if they mess up, it could potentially ruin their lives...
Anywho, while Eilat looked nice enough, we got a cab to the bus station from the border and took the first available bus to Tel Aviv, where I chatted to an army officer going home after a few weeks of service, a cranky old Jewish lady who kept interrupting my first conversation and a teenager who was giving me tips...
What a wild ride :p
