We've been here a couple days, but lucky for us just like Oslo, the city is very accessible by foot!
In Stockholm, we've been to a UNESCO world heritage site [a graveyard incidentally, but hey, it sounds more impressive if I give it it's proper due!]...we've seen the castle and walked along...Stockholm is a series of islands connected by bridges...as far as aesthetic value, Stockholm is far more pleasing to the eye than Oslo!
We also went to Uppsala, a town about 40 minutes away from the city to see some Viking mounds, which were massive and over a thousand years old and another picturesque castle!
Our hostel is also great! It's called Vandrarhem af Chapman and it's on the Skeppsholmen island [southeast Stockholm] There's a huge living room and a nice kitchen and dishes are available to make your own meals...Plus we were lucky and the hostel worker let us check in at 8 am when we arrived and didn't make us wait until 3
I would love to say that our diet has been wonderful, but it seems to be a trend in Scandinavia that food is ridiculously expensive...our bill today had 25% taxes added on to the already exhorbant price!
Lucky for us on our first day, we arrived really early at the bus station and as we left, Mcdonald's workers were handing out free sample sandwiches to the morning rush and Sam and I got 2 each...they subsequently became lunch and dinner!
P.S. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but internet is either a $3 for a half hour everywhere or $5 for an hour and a half at the 7-eleven [I'm coming to appreciate these establishments more and more]
