Schonbrunn Schloss
It is a beautiful day here, around 16 degrees and sunny. We decided to go to Schonbrunn Palace (Schloss). The palace was named after a well - Schonn = beautiful and brunn = well. Fam from fountain

. The fountain is Neptuneesque. A Roman emperor (Emperor Maximilian II) bought the land in 1569 and it became a hunting ground for royalty. Later a palace was built and later destroyed by the Turks in 1683. In 1696 Emperor Leopold rebuilt the palace and it was completed in 1699.

The gardens are magnificent, French Garden, English Garden, Palm House, Zoo, Maze and many other quiet and beautiful gardens are contained on this amazing property.

Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel) is served in the cafe with espresso coffee - on a fantastic sun-drenched terrace in the palace - or you can have the same at the Gloriette. The Gloriette (built 1775) sits on top of the hill overlooking the palace and creates a great vantage point to look back on the palace.

There is also a beautiful Wald (wood) with trees (duh) and friendly squirrels.
