San Jose is a very vibrant city. Located in the highlands of Costa Rica, the temperate climate is beautiful year round. Christmas was fast approaching and in Central American countries, any religious holidays, especially Christmas, is a very big celebration. In the pedestrian shopping mall at the center of the city, shoppers scrambled for the latest gifts. Christmas decorations were everywhere. Generally speaking, people were much more friendly and cheerful this time of year.

In any event, one of the most anticipating movie of the year, (El Señor de los Anillos) The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring was opening on Christmas Eve here in Costa Rica. Me and Juliette have seen the trailers every time we went to see a movie throughout our travels ever since Mexico, and although I wouldn't consider myself an obsessed fan of the movie, I would definitely love to see it.

After dinner, we took the liberty of finding a particular theatre that actually shows the movie. Which was not easy to find, even though the movie "LOTR" was very popular. The local newspapers published the theatre show times was almost useless considering we couldn't find the street address associated with any particular cinema. So we asked around the pedestrian mall for any cinema, and eventually we did find a relatively small movie theatre. The earlier show was sold out, so we bought the ticket for the late show and the line up was already starting to form. The movie was totally awesome, I loved it. The plot of Fellowship of the Rings was very similar to our current trip: through all the hardships and joy, a group of friends from diverse backgrounds travel for a common goal. This great movie truly left an impression in my heart. A lot of people would remember where they first saw the Lord Of The Rings; for me, I can honestly say "in San Jose, Costa Rica, on Christmas Eve."
