Me and Juliette walked to the main road from our Cabana early in the morning. We can feel the "counterculture" as we walk pass a group of tourist on their way to the Ruinas. We are the only ones walking the opposite direction. Something tells me we are on the right path to paradise :-) We caught the bus towards Chetumal, the border town with Belize. The road cuts through Yucatan's endless expense of rain forests. Many Mayans got on and off the bus as we passed through each town along the way. I curiously noticed the unique facial feature of a maya woman, the high ridged nose. As I mentioned this to Juliette, she probably didn't fully understood my English. Their beautiful nose is featured on every Maya glyphs for their gods, and it is true to nature how they looked uniquely beautiful.

We exchanged bus at Chetumal, which was very late. We were starving after having nothing to eat since Cancun. I guess the adreline just pumps me up when we travel like this, and hunger was distant on my mind. We quickly grab some food at bus station, and caught the bus to Belize city. The border crossing was very simple, exit stamp in Mexico side, walk across the bridge to Belize side and get a entry stamp. Belize is officially a English speaking country as it was a former colony of Britain, the border guard looked like a American custom agent and spoke a smooth English with a carribean accent. The Belizian bus was much lower quality than Mexican ones and it was full (standing room only). We stumbled across half the country of Belize and arrived very late in Belize City. Not knowing where to go, we WALKED in the darkness of Belize city trying to find a hotel. After a little search through the Rough Guide, we found a nice friendly place to our liking, luckily we did not get robbed on the way. We were just too innocent! and lucky.....
