We left Caye Caulker at 8am to take the boat back to Belize City, from there, we took the bus to the Belize Zoo. The bus was very crowded, was an old style American School bus. We got off at the zoo, and left our backpacks at the gate before wondering into the first tropical zoo in my life. The zoo was quiet, but it is a beautiful setting and quite large. The tropical jungle surround it give it an authetic feel much like a small enclose safari. The Jaguar exhibit was amazing. The zoo, which looked more like a maze on the map, was little difficult to navigate at first, but me and Juliette had a great time going back and forth.
We exited the zoo after about 2hr of peace with nature. At the front gate, we hailed a bus on the side of the road, a smoke chuggling school bus pulled up. We made our way to Belmonpan, the capital. There at the chaotic bus stop, we had some great chinese food for lunch (we are both starving at this point) and took the express bus to San Ignacio in the western district of Belize
San Ignacio at first sight was small but chaotic. Many more Latino/Guatemalan/Mayan than blacks here. We visited a few hotels and finally found a room where the owner was an American and he is very picky about the cleaningness of things. We ate at a small restaurant by the main road, I had 4 large bottles of Pepsi (50cents), I guess I was dehydrated after such a long day. We looked our LP Central America, trying to plan for Guatemala's Peten, which awaits us. Juliette, tire and sweaty from the humidity looked amazingly beautiful.

On top of the Pyramid in Xunantunich
. I was standing most the way while the bus driver was swerving every chance he got, but thank God it was air conditioned, a blessing for Belize. Lots of school kids just finished from school and taking the bus home, so the bus was very crowded.San Ignacio at first sight was small but chaotic.
