An organised trip to Halong Bay over three days - after leaving a wet Hanoi and a 3 hour ride (including the mandatory retail opportunity) in a rather cramped minbus we arrived at our Junk home for the next day. The sceneray was stunning (see photos) though still not convinced with the crazy colour schemes involved in lighting up the limestone caves we vistied. Lots of kites seen fishing.

Had a night time kayaking experience ???? which was a little rushed and we believe our guide Mr Sinh was practicing for the K1 class for London 2012.

Next day was spent being drppoed off at Cat Ba and climbing through rainforest no sign of the famous Cat Ba Lemur :< before going to the aptly named Monkey Island - we did see a monkey and very grumpy one at that and Mo felt a little short changed - so I have promised her a trip to the primate centre at Ninh Binh to make up.

Final day was a short boat trip back to Halong Bay before an 11:30 lunch followed by a another cramped minbus with a majopr retail opportunity. As the sign said Merry Christmas 100% guranteed safe delivery we did discuss if mum and dad would like a Budda for christmas but decided against it.
