Today we had traditional Chinese breakfast with Mom and Dad, feasting on leftovers, which were "haochi" (delicious). Xia, Mom, and Dad were on a joint mission, feeding me celery, banana, yam, and special pills to solve my “lack of intestinal motility” problem. Guess what it worked…. Ahhhh.
Then Xia and I walked to the bus stop passing by the food vendors, and bicycle shop along the way. Then we took a bus for 1 Chinese dollar (17cents each) to the Summer Palace. On the way I took a picture of the bus lady, who got mad at me for taking her picture. Opps… my bad.
The summer palace is where the emperor lived 7 months a year, where it is much cooler than the Forbidden City
I tried using the famous d keng er(蹲坑儿) without success, (darn that intestinal motility problem). When you come to China you can try that too. Just remember to bring some essential TP with you. Its not as easy as it looks to do this. I had to figure out how to hold my pants up and down at the same time…hehe
Xia and I spent the entire hot end of summer day walking around, snapping pictures and learning all about the place. By the end of the day we were both tired, finding our way past the special stinky tofu stand to the bus stop and then back to Mom and Dad's place, where there was a nice dinner waiting for us.
Xia was up at 2:30 AM working away on this blog. She was wide awake.
Stay tuned for more adventrures…..(day 4 was TianAnMen Square)
