Sorry, I didn't update yesterday. I was extremely busy with lots of stuff and what not (homework included). But yea, sadly I can't put more than one date and location the thing, which is kind of sad cause this is for today and yesterday and thus, two different locations. Skalholt and then Geysir and Gulfoss from yesterday.
Anyways, I attended mass at Skalholt yesterday. It was Lutheran mass, though I could tell that it was very similar to Catholic mass. The priest, Egill (pronounced Ale) did the readings in both Icelandic and English so we were able to at least understand that. Plus we sang " I Have a Friend in Jesus" in English as well. But the cathedral was simple but very buy pretty as you can see from the pictures.
The Wonders are the Gullfoss Water Fall and geysirs in Geysir, Iceland. The water fall was created in an earthquake probably from a volcanic eruption, I believe is what Dr. Novak said yesterday. Though I'm sure if you want more information you could easily search it on the web. But anyways, it was absolutely beautiful and I took so many pictures, so as you can tell I didn't post them all. I was able to get near enough to it that I was able to try some of the water. It was very fresh and cold and absolutely wonderful. After the water fall we stopped in a gift shop and I was able to pick up a few things of which I will say no more about. From there we went off to the geysirs, which we actually passed on the way to the water fall. There was one geysir that use to be active but Dr. Novak said that too many people threw rocks in it and so its no longer active because of it. But yea, there is another one, The Great Geysir, that is still very active and it goes off every 3 to 7 minutes. While we were there, there were longer breaks in between the eruptions, so a couple of times it when off more than once before settling down again it was really kool. Oh and right before it went off this bright bubble appeared. I tried to get a picture of it and failed, so I'm going to look for a post card of it if I can. There were also a few other hot springs in the area, and one in particular that was an electric blue color, though I'm not posting a picture of it so that I have something to show everyone when I get home.
So today unlike yesterday, which was a really nice day, it has been rainy and cold and windy
So that's all for now and I promise to try and post again soon! Till then.
