Day 6 - Today we are in Luxor and I am on the ship almost alone with the staff.  I sleep in until 9:00 and miss breakfast.  By the look of some of these pictures, I do not need it - the breakfast that is.    It is 44 degrees outside so I am just as happy not to be touring.  I go to the pool in the late morning and swim and read.  The local Manager of Enjoy Tours comes on board to discuss my departure from the ship tomorrow and the tours I will take while in Luxor.

Until this evening all meals have been buffet style, but tonight is a full service meal with Duck soup, fancy appetizers, roast beef and fruit, cheese and tart for desert and everyone dresses up.  We go to the disco after    The ship has arranged performances by Whirling Dervish - amazing feats of twirling in one direction while manipulating skirt-like three-layer wrap into different forms - and a belly dancer who gets some of the men up.  Both are quite good. Then and because there are so many spanish people on the ship, they have special spanish music and all the spanish people get up and do folk type dances.  I sit with a gal I have made friends with, Pilar.  She lived 2 years in England and speaks very good English.  We exchange email addresses so we can trade pictures. However, the Spanish group has early morning final tour so they go to bed early.   The Norwegian Group invite me over and most of them speak passable Englisn as they study it in school.  We then decide to go the Sun Deck for drinks and I have a discussion about their jobs (on drilling ship in the North Sea).  They work 2 weeks on and 4 weeks off, 12 hour days.   There are 300 people on the platform.
