Mayu was very quiet as she was concentrating on not getting travel sick and allowing her tablets to kick-in which left me as the lead for our conversation.
By the time we had reached the next highlight the "Ladd Koh Looking Out" one of the American ladies was beginning to fade fast. Turns out one of the guys was a doctor so we spent the next half hour visiting pharmacies and allowing the woman to digest enough medicine to knock her out for the rest of the trip
Next up was the Hin Ta & Hin (grandfather and grandmother rocks) which I can only describe as a giant erect penis and vagina rock formation. That seemed to lift the spirit of the rest of the Americans briefly - to the point that they even apologised for the Vietnam war! I'm sorry but censorship rules dictate that I can only show you a picture of the penis.
The monkey show was both interesting and sad - interesting in that they use monkeys to get the coconuts off the tree and sad that they are constantly kept on a lead. I went first at letting a monkey sit on my shoulder - wondering what would happen if it bit me and if any of my jabs had me covered. At least Ko Samui has five hospitals I was reassured.
We then had some coconut juice and flesh before getting back in the van.
Next up was Wat Kunaram with a (un)preserved mummified monk (see picture). An awesome sight only slightly spoiled by the addition of ray-bans - apparently the decay of the eyes was just a bit too much for us tourists. Amazingly his hair was still there on his head! Maybe it continued to grow after he died some 30 years ago.
Finally after a brief stop at the waterfall we were in Tescos in the capital Nathon. Bizarrely it started to rain and we felt so much at home that we went to the toilet and had a dunkin donut!
So reflection on the tour experience. Well excellent that Mayu didn't get sick. But worryingly other people were all sick. Can we stay healthy from here in or will we get to use all the products in our extensive first aid kit?
Time for our final massage by the beach and then it's Bangkok tomorrow and the meeting with our tour party!
P.S. after looking at the pictures what do you think of our new developing looks? I am going for the cowboy-pirate look and not sure where Mayu is heading. You do notice everyday how people are slowly morphing into their own Cuckoo-esque look (Cuckoo the comedy series recently shown on BBC3 - for those of you who don't know what I am rabbiting on about - worth a watch especially the episode when the Dad goes to a party dressed up as Dexy's Midnight Runners!).
