We are poised on the brink. 2 days to go and the nervous breakdowns are coming thick and fast. So much fiddly stuff like bank accounts, health and travel insurance, clearing the house etc. etc. A trial pack of the car resulted in an immediate cadenza as we seemed to have so much more than expected, and we had told friends that when they come to visit we will simply put up the back seats to accommodate them and pile everything in the back third of the car......not so!!! But the real time consumer is all the security stuff to try and keep the car with us and not off on its own little holiday, the contents IN the car, as well as keeping what my cute daughter-in-law calls the grey heads, safe. Flashing lights, false credit cards, book safes, wheel locking nuts, lots of hiding places - the risk is that we will not be able to find anything or decipher our own codes!
Our real entries will begin once we hit Mexico, so adios!
ps the pin on the map has eluded us and has fixed itself on Ottawa instead of Vancouver and to date we've been unable to coax it to move across the country...please bear with us!

Pleased to hear all is going well despite the race you are engaged in to get to Guatemala , whew !! exhaused after looking at the map and your progress.
Can't remember what the reason was for this mad dash, but hope you start slowing down soon, otherwise you will find yourselves in Tierra de Fugo with the only place south of that being Antarctica by the end of April. Suppose that's not all bad as you could then ship the car to Cape Town and storm up to Egypt by the end of May. That would then leave June, July and August to do Europe and the Eastern European States before heading for China and South East Asia. Pretty cool !!
