Hello to one and all. i guess i just start off were i left off last time so we got here in Wallkill(which i spelt wrong in the last entry so i apologise to all those Wallkill residents who may read this) and arrived on thursday 31st. looking forward to doing alot of lazing around and watching TV. Anyway Ken(uncle) made us one of his many specialities, on the first night, of homemade pizza which was ace (especially the one with scallops on it). so on friday we got up pretty late after catching up on some of the sleep we lost while in the hostel so probs slept pretty late. as the weather was pretty bad susan(aunt) had a snow day and as rachel(cousin) was due to do class time at susan's school as she is studying to be a teacher she also had the day off so we had a lazy afternoon watching tv. then early evening we went to a local bar called the Guilded Otter which brews alot of lager in it so they have all these different times so we got a sample tray with eight different types(not full pints) and we picked the best one and got a full pint An icey branch?

. here we heard lots of stories of ken's frat days at college which were very funny. at night ken cooked us some steak after braving the snow to cook them on the bbq. after this we then watched a movie and this was pretty late by now so we headed off to bed.

on saturday we got up and first thing on our minds was trying to get hold of the rugby scores and hopefully some highlights. scores weren't a problem but we didn't get any highlights till the next day. only the england game but that was enough, really didn't wana see scotland getting beat as usual.it was pretty cold out but ken had said he would take us up to Minnewaska Lake which has amazing views of Hudson valley which is were Wallkill is. so went up but hadn't counted on the weather being so bad. as it was so sold the night or day before all the snow had frozen and it was sheet ice every were and we could barely walk on it. we managed to walk a bit though and headed up the hill for a bit, taking our time of course. after a while ken decided that it was maybe getting a bit dangerous so we headed back down and went to  the Owasting waterfall which was further down and a bit easier to access. me and kev probably got a bit picture happy and ended up deleting alot. on the back we went to a local store for food for the superbowl, which rachel had told us a lot of stories of weirdos at this place and it had it's fair few. we headed home after this and had resevations at a sushi place at night called Hokkido. as me and kev havn't really ever eaten sushi we left susan and ken to do all the ordering and everything was amazing. only problem was getting used to the chop sticks but when all else failed i would just stab it. also ken made sure we got to sample saki which after quite a bit of it i think i was warming to it. ken loves it which helped as there was plenty to sample. we had a really good night especially as we got alot of tips from S&K for when we are in Japan which i have t say i'v forgot most of the words, well all the words but i'll ask them closer to the time again Me and Rachel

.

on sunday it was the Superbowl and S&K were having a party that night for it. first thing in the morning we went to see ken in church as i had never seen him "be" a minister before other than at kirsty and kierans weddings. after this Rachel was heading back to college in Albany so we said goodbye. during the day we mostly spent watching all the superbowl pre-match stuff which starts at like 9am and they talk about everything, they even had a half hour slot on the New England Patriots defencive line's beards! the game kicked off at 6.30pm so most people came around at about 6ish. there was plenty of food and drink and it was great to see the game and not be falling asleep during it due to it being 3am. we also got a very good game with New York Giants winning 17-14 in the last 3 minutes or so. as everyone there was a Giants fan there was alot of screeming at this point. anyway we stayed up for a bit and went to bed pretty late as we aere leaving early next day for our flight to chicago.

in the mornign i said my goodbyes to susan who was off to work then we headed off for about a hour and a holf drive to Newark airport in New Jersey. this was when our trip got really fun! our flight was due to leave at 12.55 then we were gona get a train to meet kev's cousin andrew in Kalamazoo in michigan to get a lift to were we are now which is outside detroit Me and Rachel just before she left

. our first flight was cancelled and we were then put on one at 2.45pm. as we were waiting to get on this one (literally on the plane) they said the pilots wing shield was cracked so this one got delayed until 3.45pm. this i could handle. then this one got delayed and we finally boarded it around 4.30pm. we then sat on it not moving for maybe 2 hours for them then to tell us to get off, this was due to very bad weather in chicago. once off only 46 people from 3 cancelled flights were alowed on to a bigger plane . we weren't one of the 46 so had to que for an hour or so and got moved to and air america flight. once there we both got a full search, this was cause we both had just changed flights or something so the computer flagged us. we had to wait to be searched also cause the guy was away so i was standing in my socks holding up my trousers( due to taking off my belt) for a while til he came over to search our bags. once through this flight was then delayed from 9pm till we got on it at about 11pm. so due to the time difference we got to chicago at 1.30am. also i forgot to say we didn't know were our bags were cos they stayed with continental but we had flown with air america. we did eventually get the bags at about 4.30am but our train to meet kev's cousin wasn't till 8.30am so we got a bit of sllep in the airport and then manged to get the train on time.

anyway we did finally get here to the place we are staying at about 4pm on tuesday 5th. and got alot of sleep last night.anyway we are about to head out tonight, kev's aunt wants to show us a scottish theme bar called "the full kilt" sounds classy! will speak soon, px

hiya
that sounds like a nightmare trying to get a flight to chicago. makes sitting outside madrid train station for 8 hours seem like a dawdle.
