Monday am

We were up early, packed and down to breakfast before 8. Better than normal breakfast buffet, but the ship will be so much better! Since it had almost stopped raining, we decided to head out to look for Rick's elusive peanuts (he purchased some when we were here before and loved them) and some other stuff. Visited the almost nearby Walgreen’s and stopped in a couple of other stores looking for the nuts. Mainly it was a way to kill some time and get a little exercise. The Ruby is here….waiting for us! Now all we have to do is wait, and wait, and wait…..’til shuttle time.

No problems getting on board. As I noted yesterday at the airport, Princess is efficient at moving people. We were in our cabin being greeted by Magolino by about 2pm. The suite life IS sweet!. Thank you Upgrade Fairy! We sipped our complimentary glasses of champagne and marveled at our huge balcony. Then we were off to take care of a few things - like setting up the internet account and getting our cards "starred" for the Thermal Suite. (That's the closest I'll get to the gym while on board, but I think Rick will be up there.) We came back to the room after Muster Drill (totally painless experience....boring but necessary) to find our luggage in the room so we unpacked and tried to get everything put away. We decided to do sailaway from our balcony so Rick uncorked a bottle of wine (that we had braved the wind and rain in Ft. L. to purchase and smuggle aboard) and we had our last look at the Florida coast.

Dinner was fun. We are at a table for 6, but only one other couple was there last night. They are from Ontario, have cruised quite a bit, and I think we will enjoy them. Of course, there's always the chance that they found us boring and/or repulsive and will ditch us! We'll see....

I will try not to mention every meal and morsel I eat on this trip, so if it wasn't really, really good or really, really bad I will skip the description! I do want points with my doc for skipping dessert....altho' I replaced it with that last glass of wine....

Great to hear from you. I love the updates. If I have to be chained to my job, I must derive some pleasure from lviing vicariously through my globe-trotting friends. Keep the excitement coming!
