We had planned two nights in Warsaw but when we met our Couchsurfing hosts Daniel and Anna we knew we had to stay at least 3 nights.

Daniel and his business partner Matchek dedicated three days to showing us Warsaw, cooking for us, buying us alcohol and laughing off any suggestion of us helping with the cooking or washing.

Daniel and Anna had recently returned from a year travelling so we were able to swap stories and they knew what it feels like after being on the road so long.

Daniel and Anna also owned maybe the craziest dog I have ever met, a French Bulldog called Ineska, You only had to look at her to spark a frenzied lick attack.

We were shown all of the cities best pubs and local eateries whilst Daniel and Matchek listed off countless facts about the cities history. It really was amazing walking in a city that 65 years ago was a pile of rubble. The area saw so much fighting in WW2 that the large forests that surround the area are unable to be logged due to bullets being lodged in so many of the trees.

We then agreed to stay in touch with Daniel, Anna and Matchek and headed North to the coastal city of Gdansk
