After some pretty rough travel we decided to slow down a little and we spent 4 nights on the shores of Inle Lake.

The attraction isn't really the lake itself but the people living on and around the lake, and the various markets that move from one lake side town to the next.

The people who fish the lake are quite unique due to their rowing/fishing technique. They will stand on one leg at the front of the boat, then propel the boat by wrapping the other leg around the oar leaving their hands free to cast the net.

Monasteries, farms, houses and markets all built above the shores of the lake and it made a really nice place to spend a little time.

Then back to reality with 16 hour bus south to Yangon.
