We came to Bangkok to prepare for Myanmar and so that I could apply for a new passport.

We stayed with Charlie's friend Slyvanna's Dad Andy, and his wife Da for 6 nights. It was so nice staying with them after Nepal, as they looked after us so well. Their maid Sa ensured there was always fresh interesting dishes heading our way, and Da would always drop us in to town when we needed.

Before heading to Myanmar we needed to apply for our visa and bring all the money we needed for the trip as there are no ATM's.

Once we had our visa we went about withdrawing as much Thai Baht as we could and then changed it in to US dollars. Whilst at the exchange bureau we came across an envelope, after we opened it we discovered it contained $1,400! It was a bit of a shock, and after a bit of discussion we decided to wait in the bureau until the owner returned.

After about 20mins a very sweaty Thai man burst through the doors in quite a panic searching the floor of the bureau. Charlie then approached him and asked "are you looking for this?". The relief on his face you would have thought he had just been pardoned from death row, it was very funny.

From Bangkok we took a short flight to the Burmese city of Yangon.
