Dad treated Charlie and I to three days safari in the Shamwari Game reserve.

The lodge was great and the food was almost too much for Charlie and I who were now used to making the East African decision of Fish and rice or, Chicken and rice.

We saw a lot of game and had some really memorable encounters with both elephants and lions.

Although the safari has been one of the highlights so far, the memory will be marred slightly as Mum finally decided to give up on her african animal tracking career. There were several really basic errors including the ant hill that was spotted as a Lion, and the more exotic mistake of the Red Capped Snake Eagle that was spotted as a Giraffe...

After three days and two nights safari we headed west to Jeffrey's Bay in the car we rented in Port Elizabeth.

Dad on

In Mum's defence, the red capped snake eagle was standing in the top of a tree and we could only see his body, which did look like the head of a giraffe eating from the tree. It was a bit of a classic!!
