A long day on the truck. We stopped at a roadside cafe called Ronnie's Sex Shop. Michelle told us the story behind the name. It seems that Ronnie opened this café more or less in the middle of nowhere and called it Ronnie's Shop. One night his buddies came along and painted Sex on the sign and it became Ronnie's Sex Shop and soon was a famous stopping place on the road to Stellenbosch. Unfortunately it wasn't open. This came as a surprise to Michelle who insisted that it was always open. She walked around the building several times peering in the windows trying to find the owner. Perhaps he was playing hard to get or a little game of hide and seek. In any case he never appeared and eventually we gave up and got back on the truck.

Our accommodation that evening was at Mountain Breeze in chalets in the middle of a forest. Although this was not a high point, it was adequate. I had always wondered how those woodcutters' cottages always felt and now I knew.

Our last evening together was a dining out experience at a nice restaurant called Pintola nearby.  The restaurant did have some difficult arranging tables for fourteen people but after much complicated maneuvering we were all seated together. The food, however, was excellent. I had a marvelous vegetarian dish while the others had tons of meat. Luckily someone lent me her fleece as all the windows were open and it was freezing inside. I had been desperately trying to keep warm by the heat of a candle.
