For this we're up early again today, I can see a trend developing here, and off to Golden Corral for our buffet breakfasts... in the pouring rain... that wasn't part of the master plan! We followed Shaun in convoy to the eatery but all got separated in the bad weather. We ended up at Sizzler (by mistake) at the same time as Shaun phoned us to say that Golden Corral wasn't open that early, so he came to us, but we didn't see Rob & Mandy again until just after Magic Kingdom opened...!!! Fortunately the rain had let up by now and the day was threatening to be another warm one...!
Once the Main Street Station opening ceremony was finished we all headed off to "Splash Mountain" and got on it straight away. From there it was next door to "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad", and Anne was a whoopin' and a hollerin' all the way round it...!!! So the magic was now well and truly under way! Over the next couple of hours we worked our way around various areas of the park and rode on "Haunted Mansion", "Mickey's PhilharMagic", "Space Mountain", "Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin", "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and (for reasons unknown) "it's a small world" & "Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress"...!!! We also had a monstrous laugh in "Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor" with Mike Wazowski as Monster of Ceremonies and also watched the spectacular "Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade".
With all this non-stop excitment we were getting a bit peckish by now and the party split up for the rest of the day. We opted for a slow relaxing lunch in Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, while the others intended wandering around the park for a bit longer before heading off for some retail therapy at Premium Outlets Mall. For us it was quite a relief to chill out for a while in the cafe's much needed air conditioning while we "filled our tanks" for the afternoon's onslaught. We took our time after lunch and checked out "Jungle Cruise", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Walt Disney's World Railroad". By now it was starting to get dark so we found ourself a decent spot to watch the amazing "Main Street Electric Parade", and it was worth the wait, spectacular as only Disney know how...!!! Our intention was to then stay for the fireworks, but we'd had enough by now, so headed back to the villa to beat the crowds leaving the park. It was around half nine by the time we reached home and it wasn't too long after that the shoppers also returned with arms full of bulging bags. After a bit of a chill out, chat and snacks it was off to bed for a well earned rest.
